Spoiled Rotten

Perry

Betty used to cry but you won't see that any more.
Since she got so pretty the blind are leading blind to her door.
They buy her flowers, buy her candy, rub her back on the floor.
She's used to being used; she keeps them hungry for more.

Spoiled rotten, the girl's got brains but she's forgotten.
Gone crazy, she doesn't stand a chance now that she's so lazy.
Her father asks her, "what are you gonna do with your life?"
        and she says nothing.

Shawn he is a pretty boy he likes the candy for up his nose.
His parents buy him sporty cars, they buy him fancy clothes.
He doesn't like work, don't want to go to school, but he does.
Half the time he spends catching chicks,
        the rest catching a buzz.

Spoiled rotten, he used to have goals, but now he's forgotten.
Gone crazy, he doesn't stand a chance now that he's so lazy.
His mother asks him, "Where are you going out for the night?"
        and he says, "nowhere."

Now John he went to college, graduated, and he's gonna go far,
but all he wants to do is write songs and play his guitar.
He works some on the side, and drives around fast in his car.
He dreams that he can make the big time as a rock & roll star.

Spoiled rotten, he used to have needs which he's forgotten.
You can't teach it, he wants it all, but he just can't reach it.
His sister tells him, "Rockwell is hiring workers, full time."
and he says "don't get me an interview"

Spoiled rotten, they hardly had to strain
for the things that they've gotten.
So greedy, they've got all they want and they'll never be needy.
It makes me wonder, how in the hell could they be satisfied?
