Walt Disney was involved in its original planning... on hand for opening ceremonies was the first American in space, Alan Shepard, along with fellow Mercury Astronauts Gordon Cooper, Wally Schirra and Scott Carpenter. Tomorrowland's Space Mountain spans 200 feet and is 118 feet tall.
