Bat Country at Poptopia

I was still processing pictures from the previous day's Poptopia show, so I was late to the gig and missed the first two bands. As I turned left from Hollywood onto Vine to look for parking, I could see that a lot of people were standing outside talking, so I knew if I hurried I could catch most of Bat Country's set. I parked my car and ran a block up Vine and got into the Jack's just as they were starting to play Miss Effervescent, a song that I'd practically been begging them to play. It sounded great. I pushed my way through to the front of the crowd (I imaginge I'm now more despised than Van in Jake's Barn Hut) and settled in for a great set. Not one, but two new guitarists took the stage with Bat Country, Henry Castro and Bobby Bognar. they looked like they were having a great time up there, and the audience sure were. Oh yeah, and those Norm and Larry guys played too. :-) Enjoy the pix - |
