The Piper Downs were opening for The Young Dubliners in an "ultra
secret show" (except for the fact that the Gig's phone message told
who it was. :-) The PDs played a rip-roarin' set, which got prematurely
cut off by the sound man (he shoulda let them play Bottle Rocket,
it was obvious the audience wanted more of the PDs). I think the two
highlights of the show were Ten Speed and their cover of
Dreaming by Blondie. I would have stayed for the YDs, but I
was pretty wiped out by a long week of work and gigs, so I went home
early for a change; didn't matter, I got my money's worth out of the
PDs set.
