I arrived about halfway through the PD's set, and the first thing I noticed was that Garner wasn't out front playing leads. Lo and behold, he was back on the kit, bangin' away like a hurricane. Turns out Chris couldn't make the gig, so Garner dusted off his sticks and filled in. They sounded good this way (I guess they played as a trio for several years before becoming a quartet). The only hitch came on Delicate, when it came to the spot where Garner usually plays his guitar solo. They comped through it and went on fine. Be sure to catch the PD's on Friday at the other Gig (Hollywood) with the Andersons, Walter Clevenger, Bat Country, and a host of thousands. |
