So you people who weren't at the show, which ones of you
know who Pat DiNizio is? Hold up your hands. Ok, there's
you and you and HEY! PUT YOUR HAND DOWN, YOU WOULDN'T KNOW
DINIZIO IF HE SPILLED HIS BEER ON YOU!. Ok, so I didn't
know who Pat DiNizio was when Severo first told me about the
concert; he's the lead singer/songwriter for the Smithereens.
Of course, I know who the Smithereens are, and have several of
their albums both on vinyl and on CD. Now I know who Pat
DiNizio is, as he played at Severo's house as part of his
Strangers on a Refrain Living Room tour.
Great show. Pat was very relaxed and had a great rapport with the audience as he played a long (about 2 hour) set including many Smithereens hits, as well as covers by The Beatles, The Who, and Black Sabbath. Most of the show was just him on guitar and vocals and Severo on bass and background vocals (Severo has toured with the Smithereens on bass). After an intermission midway through the set, several guest artists came up to do songs with Pat. Check out the other page for pictures and comments of the guests playing with Pat. |
