Kickstand opened the final pop show at Jack's with a rousing set played
to a half-full audience. That kinda surprised me, as I thought it would
be jam packed with this monster lineup. As it turned out, it was
really only shoulder to shoulder for The Negro Problem. I guess
the midweek date made it hard for some people to show up early or
stay late. I did both and it was well worth it.
I'd been listening to a live recording of Kickstand from a previous appearance at Jack's for a couple of days, so I sent an email request to Ken for Erica Kane, which they graciously played. Hell, they only have a repertoire of about 10 songs, so they probably were gonna play it anyway, but I like to delude myself that I have an influence in the pop scene. :-) Enjoy the pix - |
