Kickstand at Luna Park

When I showed up at Luna Park, the crowd was pretty sparse, and I was thinking there might be a light crowd, typical for a Tuesday. Then I noticed a cluster of people in the back of the room: the pop scene crowd. From that acorn a mighty oak grew (well, maybe a moderate sized oak). By the time Kickstand took the stage, we filled all the tables down in front, with a smattering of people hanging around the bar and the tables in back as well.

Kickstand played a fun set, and seemed to enjoy the size of the stage, which allowed everyone but Lisa to roam around a bit. Every time I see Kickstand, I'm more impressed with the lead guitar skills of Will O'Brien. When he plays with the Andersons (or rather when his evil cousin Bill Anderson plays with the Andersons) he plays some leads, but they feature Bob Anderson more on leads. With Kickstand, he gets more of a chance to stretch out.

Ken writes such good songs. I haven't seen Kickstand enough times yet to sing along with anything except maybe the chorus of Predicatable. I think I need to video tape their next show, so I'll have something to hold me over until they release Inspiration Overload.
