I think this was my favorite band of the show. They all came dressed very
60's. The drummer was wearing a kinda paisley shirt and a big medallion. The
other three guys all wore poofy shirts. Matt wore some really cool Beatle boots,
and the other guys wore stripey bell-bottom pants (think Stones in their early
days). If one of them had been wearing a jacket with a fur collar, I'd have
thought I was having a flashback or something.
The music was pure pop heaven. I don't remember any titles or anything (seeing 6 bands in a night will do that to you), but I remember really enjoying their groove. I also dug their guitars. Matt was playing a Rickenbacker (probly a new one, but that's ok) and his lead guitarist was playing what looked like a Gretsch Country Gentleman. Cool stuff. I headed back to the merch table after their set, but the guy in front of me bought the last two copies. Lesson learned - next time I totally dig a band I'm seeing at an IPO show, go buy their CD while they're still playing and it's still available. |
