Busstop Hurricanes at the Doll Hut. It was just like old times... and not.No more Linda Jemison, no more stickers all over the wall, no more sagging ceiling, but the `Canes playing at the Doll Hut still felt like home. In fact it looked like there was a family portrait on the wall behind the band, there was a painting of a sexy blonde woman in a provocative pose that looked remarkably like Twisty Lemmons. :-) Hector Jesus Joachim De'Lamour wasn't there, but Twisty Lemmons took on the extra lead duty with no problems. The last time I saw the Hurricanes at the Doll Hut, J. Edgar had some problems with his basses, but this gig was smooth sailing. Sammy Tonic was in typical form, howlin' at the women from atop the bar (no bar-walkin by Twisty though). The one sad thing is that there was another band after them, otherwise they coulda rocked that joint all night. It was a splendid homecoming. Enjoy the pix - |
