I came to this gig to see the Ziggens, so when the Busstop Hurricanes took
the stage before them and started playing a scorching rockabilly set, I
was pleasantly surprised. They've got a guy slappin out a back beat on
upright bass, and a rockin' cowpoke lookin' guy on rhythm guitar (for the
opening tune. He later played some leads as well). Their lead guitarist
is laying down some tasty licks with a twangy strat sound, when Bert Ziggen
comes over and tells me her name is Twisty Lemmons. Sweet.
Then their lead vocalist (Sammy) joins `em for the rest of the set, and he's got all the Elvis moves goin' on and he's roamin' through the audience and climbin' up on tables and stuff. This is definitely a band worth seeing, and worth seeing again. Enjoy the pictures - |
