Goo Goo Dolls at Dodger Stadium

There were two things that were particularly amusing to me. First, in juxtaposition to all the club rock shows I see where sometimes the band has to wait awhile if the guitarist breaks a string, the Goos had fresh guitars for every song. And it wasn't like it was two guitars going back and forth, I'm sure I saw about 4 different guitars and at least three basses. At the end of each song, the roadies would rush on stage and trade guitars with them. It must be nice not to have to tune or anything, but in a way it seemed kinda flamboyant and cheezy.

The other thing I was digging on was the camera work, which was excellent. To most of the people up there in the upper decks, the live show was just a bunch of ants running around on the stage, so without good camera work it would have sucked for them. I was watching the stuff and thinking, I've gotta get 2 or 3 other people together who have digital video cameras and start shooting some gigs in an organized fashion. We could produce some pretty cool videos.

Dodger Stadium was packed to the gills with screaming teenage girls, well mostly pre-teen. Rob had field seats that most of the crowd probably would have killed for, but we just watched the Goo Goo Dolls and then headed up to the Stadium Club for some complementary Dodger Dogs and beverages. I had to leave early to go practice with my band, so we headed out near the start of Sugar Ray's set.
