Ok, before you send me email, I know - some of them pictures are
out of focus. I discovered by accident recently that I can get
some nice effects once in a while by shooting a fairly well-lit
person with no flash. The slower shutter speed allows me to
capture the color that they're lit in, and if they move it smears,
but sometimes the smear looks cool. I'm still playing with the
technique, so it's really iffy. I like when the guitar stays in
perfect focus, but their head and their hands are blurred, or
something like that. Like it? Hate it?

WC & the DKs played a nice set for a good cause at a Toys for Tots charity show. The crowd size was about the same as the night before for The Negro Problem at 14 Below, but the Galaxy is so much bigger that most people hung back at their tables, so I got to move around a lot and get a lot of variety in my pictures. If the LA crowd had made this show, the dance floor would definitely have been occupied. The stage was so big that Steve musta run a marathon between his mike and Mike during the show. At one point in the set, Walter paused the show to make a plug... not for his CDs, but for this very web page. :-) He introduced me to the audience and invited me to come up on stage to take a few shots, which I did. Since Henry, Walter and Steve were all the way downstage and I was getting good shots of them anyway, I took the opportunity to get a couple of good shots of Mike (I'll know soon if the animation came out).
