I was in choir in high school, & when they'd do showcase type shows, most of the people were doing show tunes or Barry Manilow or some other smarmy crap. Not me. My friends and I broke out our guitars & attitudes & did Surrender. So when Pamita Neptuna told me she had an all-girl Cheap Trick tribute band, I knew it was something I had to check out. This was Cheap Chick's maiden performance, and let me tell you, they broke their cherry in style. The Garage was packed. In fact it was so packed that I was pretty much stuck in one place for most of the show, though I did squeeze my way through the crowd towards the end of the set to try to get a couple of pictures of Pam. Melanie "Robbin' Zander" Coffee, Rifka "Riff Nielsen" Arslan, Pam "Pam Cheatersome" Utterback, and Tonya "Bunni Carlos" Jaynes rocked the house until they surrendered, & then rocked `em some more. I had a memory card failure, so I lost about half my shots of the show, but most of the rest of `em are here, & some of them don't suck. I'm sure I'll get another chance to shoot the Chicks soon.
