Well, I don't know if I'd really call this Bat Country. It's
true that Norm was there, and Bobby too, but Larry & Henry weren't.
I'd have to say you've gotta have both Norm & Larry to qualify as
Bat Country. Filling in on Drums was Garner Knudsen of the Piper
Downs, and Yell even joined in for a song or two, so I'd have to dub
this band the Piper Bats. That said, the Piper Bats played a pretty
smooth set of mostly Bat Country tunes (plus one Piper Downs tune).
By the time they played, it was pretty dark out, and the lighting was pretty sparse (hey, ya can't expect a few 110 sockets to handle a bunch of amps AND a bunch of lights, they sounded great). Thus most of the pictures came out pretty dark. Just after the show, the cops came to the door and threatened to arrest Bill Bostick if they got any more complaints about the noise. Truly, the Malt Liquor swiggin' Piper Bats had done their job. :-) Enjoy the pix - |
