I liked the Angoras gig at Al's Bar so much, that I drove all the way down to Anaheim to see their show at Chain Reaction. Once again they played an inspired set, with Paula growling and enticing the audience to come closer, but the teeny Chain crowd were kinda shy and hung back. I was one of maybe two or three people who came within 10 feet of the stage. I guess I've noticed that before with other bands. With rare exceptions, the kids at Chain usually stand around like posers, while the people at Als generally get right up to the stage and get into the band. Youth is wasted on the young.
