The Andersons opened their set with From the Get Go, and
played a couple of the other big hits right off to start strong.
Then they lapsed into their lovable irreverent selves. First they
did an cover of White Christmas & then the Hokey Pokey,
both at the request of the audience (we've really got to stop
throwing them such cupcakes for requests -- I suggest Dance on
a Volcano or maybe Rachmaninov's 4th). The Hokey Pokey
was particularly well received; Lisa and Susan & some other
people jumped up and started Hokey Pokeying (is that a verb? it
is now!)
After that Bob retold his masturbation story for those who missed it at the Jack's gig. I had two thoughts on that. At first I thought they should include it on their forthcoming CD (i.e. track 5 - Bob's Jerk Off Story). Then later I thought maybe they should combine it with the Hokey Pokey and have Bob tell the story in the middle, Mojo Nixon style (i.e. track 5 - The Spokey Strokey). As with the Sparklejets pictures, the best shots here are the animations, with the cool psychedelic projection in the back. Enjoy - |
