Yeah, I know. I'm not supposed to take pictures at Spaceland. But every show I've seen there since Mitchell decided to take away my photo priveleges has had several people taking photos. They're always flash photos. The only difference between them and me is quantity -- they might shoot 2-10 pictures (each) during a show, while I shoot 30-50 for a typical show (& sometimes more for certain bands). So I brought my camera with me, with the intention of loaning it to one of my friends and asking them to shoot pix of Third Grade Teacher (who I had my signed permission slip to shoot video of). That way I wouldn't be violating Mitchell's one-man-restriction which clearly isn't a general club policy but a discriminative application of an ad-hoc policy that was only created when I offended a single club-goer. During the opening act, The Excessories, who I didn't shoot (I didn't want to push it - I also didn't shoot Ex-Girl), there were more than the usual number of photographers shooting more than the usual number of pictures. It didn't seem to be interfering with anyone's enjoyment of the show. So I decided to shoot the Teacher myself, but just limit the number of pictures I took. I shot only during the last two songs. Mitchell, in case you're viewing these images, consider this - I probably shot less photographs than most of the people taking pictures there that night, and I was likely the ONLY person there with a signed authorization from the band allowing me to photograph them (a policy which you clearly created only for me).
