Third Grade Teacher played a mellower-than-usual set at 14 Below,
since they knew the Negro Problem crowd would appreciate some of
their pop hits better than some of their harder rock crowd might.
Don't get me wrong, they still played pulled out all the stops on
Tongues and a couple of other ragers, but they played several
mellow songs in a row, including Fear of a Boy and BOF
back to back in case anyone wanted to tape the concert and play it
backwards.
The stage is kinda high at 14 Below, but well lit. When it's not too crowded, I can usually step back and take some wider shots, but that was not the case for this set. The crowd were packed in pretty dense, so the variety and quality of shots is a bit less than some shows. To be honest, that's what I'd prefer -- that my shots are pretty boring and all shot from the same place because I couldn't move around a lot for the screaming horde of fans. After this gig, I think 3GT will start to feel a bit more at home at 14 Below. Enjoy the pix - |
