The Space is an old warehouse in an industrial part of Long Beach that
has been converted into an after-hours club. They've got the space divided
into several rooms, with living room furniture, some cool art, and two
stages. Their lighting and sound are excellent, better than many LA clubs,
and for a band like The Teacher, they got to use every setting those lights
could handle.
Before 3GT went on, the crowd was dispersed throughout the place, and outside where they could smoke, but as soon as the band started playing, a sizeable and raucous crowd quikly assembled. Of course, they loved what the Teacher had to offer; a set which included two of the newer songs, in addition to standards like Cinnamon and Tongues. Sabrina and Laura were wearing the slinky black glittery dresses which of course amplifies the band's already sexy performance (like when your sexiness is already at 10 and you need just a little more... 11). As I said before, the lights in the place were excellent, and it really show in the variety of colors in the pictures. The constant changing of light density really sent my camera for a spin (it had trouble locking focus for most of the show), but it worked out fine and produced some really fun and psychedelic pix.
