The Teacher played a new song for this show. Sabrina said she had
Black Sabbath in mind when she wrote it, while Dave said that one
part sounded a little like Sisters Grimm. I could hear a little of both
of those influences, though most of the song leans more toward Sabbath.
I've got to complement Woody (?) who did an excellent job on sound for
the night. Good balance, I could hear everything, he threw in the
digital delay at all the right times, and made 3GT sound the way they
should.
Spaceland was packed, including many people who were seeing 3GT for the first time. At first they seemed a little intimidated, as they were standing 10 or 15 feet back from the stage. At that point I could freely move around and get whatever angles I wanted. As the show went on they started warming up to the band and moving in closer. As they finished Monster, some guy leaned over to me and said "These guys ROOL. Who says rock & roll is dead?" (exact quote, the emphasis on rule was his, the spelling was mine :-) He then proceeded to edge by me so he could lean on the stage for Conductor Semiconductor and Tongues. Enjoy the pictures - |
