Third Grade Teacher at The Lava Lounge

This was the first time I've been to the Lava Lounge, and it was pretty cool. The sound was very clean, better than some LA clubs with bigger names. The atmosphere was pretty cool, with a cheezy volcano theme. The layout was very good; unobstructed views from 180 degrees, a raised level with tables toward the back, and it looked like it could hold about 150.

The only negative was the lights. Sabrina and Laura were well lit (though in a single color each - Sabrina in green and Laura in red - It was a Christmas volcano theme). Art was back lit by a couple of big lighting magma thingies behind him, but Dave was basically in the dark. If they'd add another half dozen fresnels, the audience could see the whole band. Make it an even dozen with a board to control them, and they'd compete with the Foothill. I overheard them saying the Negro Problem would be playing there in October, so I'll be back.
